Sarah Palin is defending Miss California's anti-gay statement, saying:
"The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against (Miss California) Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable,"Palin continues, in a quizzically, nonsensical fashion,
"What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what the President and Ms. Clinton believe marriage is between a man and a woman,”Yeah... I don't get it either.
But wait! She's not finished yet!
“Our Constitution protects us all — not just those who agree with the far left."In an almost stunning display of idiocy, Palin proves herself to be just as delusional and illogical as Miss California herself.

well... the quote simply forgets a comma. it makes sense if you put one after believe. also explain how its a stunning display of idiocy.... and shes also saying people shouldnt be attacked for their opinion, especially if its expressed because she had to answer a question.
i think its hilarious that people are making a big deal out of this
“Our Constitution protects us all..."
Unless you're gay.
Stunning.
thats not in a quote is it?
Even with the comma after 'believe' what is she trying to say? People shouldn't be attacked for their opinion? Preposterous. Should we just let the Nazi's roam the earth then?
shes saying that its a belief shared by other people and politically powerful and well known people. why should she be the only one attacked...
and in what way is she a nazi? thats extreme and ridiculous.
That's called argument from authority.
It's a logical fallacy.
And she's not a Nazi, but if people's beliefs aren't up for criticism well then where do we draw the line?
im not saying it isnt up for criticism. im saying to criticize one and not the others, those being on the opposite political spectrum, is unfair and closed minded.
People criticize Palin, Ms. Clinton and Bush for said belief all the time. It just so happens Miss California is the latest one to express it out loud. She's acting like a child. They're forgetting that political debates aren't about people they're about beliefs .
and im saying to call someone stupid or idiotic isnt an argument and to not argue both sides with logical backing and reasoning behind words before choosing a stance continues to create biased, one-sided, and ignorant views... these often initially created by a popular media stance.... but to every man, their own. i am rather disappointed tho :/ i always respected your intelligence
that last one probably seems out of place. i was typing it before your last comment
If she says "Everyone is protected by the constitution." Then in the same breath says "Gay people shouldn't be allowed to marry." Well, she's already lost this logical battle. I'm sorry you're disappointed.
she was also saying that the way she grew up she believes marriage is between a man and a woman so she doesnt believe they should get married... she at least can explain herself. others have that belief too, many others. i couldnt care less myself but im just saying its not completely ignorant on her part because if it were that easy, as in the constitution saying men and women or w/e, this whole gay marriage debate would have been over a long time ago.
That isn't logic though... saying you grew up that way doesn't help your position at all! She's arguing from a religious stand-point.
the argument put fourth by palin and miss california is in itself a paradox that can only be explained by the quantum physics theory of parallel universes. the argument is a contradiction. both palin and miss california are saying that oppinion and preference are covered under the constitution, yet the preference of same sex marriage is not...
good sir, paradox that is. parallel universe hard to find it is. [/yoda] please show me the linear algebra that verifies the conservative cristian argument, and then i shall call it valid.
Go Callif! Woot. Miss california is another great example of a mindless, pitiful zombie, conceived in an era where a large portion of the country reconciles the fear of the unknown and the difficulty of being open minded with ancient superstitions and ignorance. I am not sure how to combat such a force, you cannot oppose it with the intention of insult or manipulation, it does nothing but lend to their cause. We can only hope that through education, reason, and showing that you dont need a faith based initiative as a basis for trying to live a good life and adding to the progress of the human race, can we silence fools like these
In response to that debate between Callif and "Anonymous"...
How can a politician say that people should not be criticized for having a certain opinion while that's exactly what all politicians are doing? If a political stance is just an opinion about how things should be done, then a political debate is like a big..."fuck you, you're wrong, and your opinion sucks."
In a way, I think being a politician is an immediate criticism of others' opinions. It means a person cares enough to go defend his or her opinion against other opinions.
(Not sure if any of that made a whole lot of sense, sorry...)
Prop 8 was upheld by the California Supreme Court. So Miss California and the Religious Nazis have won another round. :(
But, The Fight's Not Over Yet! :)
